Neuroimmune Biology as a Therapeutic Layer

Pain · Inflammation · Tumour Biology

Pain, nerves, immune cells and tumour biology are not separate systems. Neuroimmune crosstalk may shape progression, fibrosis, pain and treatment resistance.

Pain biology, neural signalling, immune regulation and tumour progression are increasingly understood as interconnected systems.

Imperion’s work across chronic pancreatitis, pancreatic cancer and colorectal cancer focuses on neuroimmune crosstalk as a biologically actionable layer of disease progression.

By studying pathways such as NMDAR-associated signalling and the fractalkine–CX3CR1 axis, we aim to better understand how nerves and immune cells interact with inflamed or malignant tissue — and how these interactions may open new therapeutic opportunities.
